New jewelry

I don't think I showed you this new necklace yet. I started with my etched copper pendant  with a  fish bone design on it. I love the tribal feel of it.  I added a dangle with one of my round lampwork beads done in earth tones  and one of my disk beads wired together.  It looked too long for the fullness of it so I made the copper oval which I hammered some texture into and patinaed then sanded to highlight. I wound ball end wires I had made around the oval like a vine growing on it then hung two earth tone beaded dangles from  that.  I patinaed a copper ball chain with liver of sulfur and brushed the tops of the balls to bring back copper highlights.  It is 20% off right now in my Etsy store!

Bead Hoarders Blog Hop!

Well, I thought this was a great idea that Lori Anderson came up with!  How many of us jewelry designers have tons of stuff stashed because it's too expensive or the inspiration hasn't come yet? So here we have over 160 people sharing their designs made with hoarded beads, components, clasps, etc.  - and here's mine. Thanks Lori!

I rarely use sterling anymore due to the cost and I am worried that it will be priced higher than folks are able to pay so I pulled lots of sterling silver out of my hoarded stash!   First up I have the above necklace made with vintage color swarovski crystals - three different shades of pink!  and sterling silver beads and clasp with matching earrings. Yummy! What should I charge for this?  A million dollars! lol

Secondly, a pair of earring made with clear crystals and peridot set in sterling silver. Gorgeous, I love peridot!

Here I have a necklace made with classic colors red coral, black onyx and sterling silver beads.  And matching earrings below. :o)

Last, another pink piece with a handmade lampwork bead by me in the center, 2 hugemongous sterling silver beads and beautiful matching pink fresh water pearls! Looks good enough to eat!
I still have tons more hoarded but this felt good as if I had permission to use some if it! lol
If you like lampwork beads in your designs all of mine are 20% off in my Etsy store right now!

Peruvian Opals! Yummy!

I love Peruvian opal! Green, blue or pink  - it is all gorgeous!  But there is no blue bead like blue Peruvian Opal.  A customer bought earrings I made with the blue opal beads like the one in the pendant. Then she wanted a matching necklace! I made each section wire wrapping the beads together and then connecting the loops on the ends. It has great movement and the beads are SO pretty! I love the blue opal with sterling silver. I added Swarovski crystal 4mm bicones as accent beads. Gorgeous color for summer!

Rain Anyone? New Boho Necklaces Anyway!

It has been raining here for three weeks! We have had a few short breaks - a whole day a week ago - so I have gotten the grass almost mowed. lol
The weeds are taking over the garden and I can't take any pictures because I use natural light and need to be outside to get the most accurate colors.  Well, that leaves me more time for creating beads and jewelry.  Except that the rain makes me very sleepy! Wow!

But I do have a few new pieces finished and more in the works. I have a new series using sea glass pieces - earring and necklaces! I love the boho look so I made dangly charms and used recycled sari silk along with some handmade lampwork beads. The charms have crystals, opal sticks, Czech glass flowers and more.  I love them and so does my daughter so that is a super vote of confidence from her! We did have a few hours of break in the rain so I got some quick photos of new pieces. My daughter was sweet enough to model for me.
I will share them with you even though I want to take more pictures to list them for sale.  If the rain ever stops.....Email me if you are interested in any of these pieces. I have earrings to match! The length of  these necklaces are adjustable at the clasp.

This piece has a soft pink sea glass piece to which I added a beautiful lampwork glass flower made by a friend of mine. I used Czech glass flower beads to make the dangle which hangs on a dainty diamond cut copper chain.  handmade copper clasp.  $44

I love the humor of this piece. The aqua blue sea glass  circle has sari silk ribbons complimenting it in beautiful aqua, brown and cream colors. The dangle is a pewter fish chasing an orange Czech glass fish that is chasing a fisher man's hook which I wire worked for this piece! The second dangle is sea glass rounds and crazy lace agate! The orange fish is not neon - lol - it is just the lighting.  Handmade copper clasp.   $39

This pretty piece is an aqua blue rectangle that I wire wrapped using a clear etched sea glass pebble and a swarovski crystal. As dangles I used a Czech glass clam shell and aqua crystal. The other stick dangle is opalescent milk glass. Copper lobster claw clasp.  $28

Happy Fourth Everybody!!

I want to say happy 4th to you all. I hope you have a great day whether working or relaxing.

I am trying to make up for all the lost posts from when my DD unintentionally deleted my old blog .  So, I want to show you the beads and jewelry from one of the Bead Soup Blog Hops that Lori Anderson hosts. This was the sixth blog party that that Lori hosted and I exchanged soups with Shari Replogle whose blog is http://playswithpaper.blogspot.com/2012/08/6-bead-soup-blog-party.html

I sent her this :

And she made this fabulous boho necklace!

She sent me this super bunch of charms and makings that she creates herself.

And I made this charm necklace. I have to say that we did not speak about what we were going to make. It seems that the brass tube charms lent themselves to tassel pendants!

I had so much fun on this blog hop. I hope you enjoy seeing the goodies. :o)

Flower beads

I an an avid gardener so it follows that I would love flower beads.  I have practiced in the last year or so various styles of flower beads!  I have yet to try sculpting flowers but that may come.  For now I am having fun making disk flower beads, murrini flowers and 3 petal flowers. These are all available in my Etsy store and are on sale right now!  https://www.etsy.com/shop/CabariBeads

This is a set of my Fun and Funky Disks beads that I indented to give them petals.

This focal bead is called Night Pond in which I used murrini as flowers.

I added silver glass dots to this disk flower beads.

This is a beautiful colored silver glass 3 petal flower on a large focal bicone bead.

I used silver glass frit as a background for this 3 petal flower focal bead.

This set is called Summer Garden in which I mixed my own frit blend to act a background flowers to the larger murrini flowers.
