Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr...It's Cold Outside

It has  been freezing outside this last week here in Tennessee! And the temperatures have not been as low as some areas of the country. Today it is up above freezing for the first time in a week and I am so relieved. My propane hoses were too frozen to fuel my torch. I brought them inside along with the propane regulator to thaw it out. I got a new tank of propane and today there is movement in the lines and the torch is lighting. Yay! I can make beads!  I have orders to make and need to get working.

But in the meantime I have been on a earring kick! I got an idea and ran with it so I have 12 new pair of earrings in my Etsy store. Yay again! I used a great variety of accent beads along with the etched copper tabs - some stone, lampwork beads and Czech glass. I love it all.

 2014 is fast approaching and it is time to set new goals with fresh ideas.  With that in mind, I  have many new bead ideas and ideas for enameled copper jewelry components. I just found out that I can use my little torch to do copper enameling so i purchased a stand and wire platform to do so.  I also may try some bead crochet if I can find the time.  :o)
 I have had a very successful and happy year and hope you have too! Without my customers I would be lost...or buried in beads!  I am thinking of changing my business name to use my own name although Patty Miller is not that exciting. But it is easy to remember!
Needless to say, the new year threatens to be fun with lots to do and explore.  In the meantime, Happy Holidays and a very happy and prosperous new year!

Still Time to Order Online

You can still order online to get Christmas delivery. I would use Priority mail to be safe. Most Etsy stores use first class but add the option to get Priority mail. That is what I do so you will have the option if you need it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am going to my brother's house. He lives about an hour away and since he has Parkinson's disease he is pretty much a shut in.  My brother, Bob, can get around a bit for an hour or two when his medicine kicks in. We sit at his table and talk and laugh about when we were kids until he starts to stiffen up again then us visitors head home. He still lives on his own and prefers it that way. So, I have cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and am taking it to his house.  My best friend is coming with me to help. She has made a fabulous vege dish called southern succotash and got real cranberry sauce. It has bits of orange in it and it is the best! I am so grateful for my best friend.
My brother and I didn't speak for a few years before he got sick but I am grateful that we are on good terms again.  My daughter has a wonderful young man in her life and she is going to his family's house for thanksgiving dinner as it would be too much to have four people over to my brother's house since he tires easily. I am grateful for her as she has been the light of my life since she was born. And I am grateful for her wonderful young man. <3
I hope the roads are good and the day goes well. One of the things I love the most about Thanksgiving is sending leftovers home with people. I always try to cook enough to send some home with everyone!  Must be the mother in me. lol
